with an alarming regularity the brutal nature of man surfaces with a violence that is both random and terrifying and ultimately depressing. maybe someone should cull humanity?

I think that's exactly that dark and violent side of men that's both terrifying and fascinating...

lilith>>>i guess that it can be fascinating at one level, but when it gets this gruesome it has the reverse effect on me. i am very aware of my own ability to fly off in a rage and potentially do harm to another human being and that, very male trait, scares me shitless.

It fascinates me, that side of every men...
I guess fear can be like a drug to me sometimes!

I'm not talking about compulsive violence... I can't cope with violence against someone who is harmless (like domestic violence or child abuse)... In those cases I can get very "maternal" like every woman (I guess...)

It's the dark side of men... And all that turn off reason and make them act by instinct!

see what I mean? that doesn't make you a bad person! That only proves that you still have the animal nature within you! Who can say that's wrong?

lilith>>>maybe the men i have punched might not be to happy about but i guess you are right.

(my previous comment had a word missing. it should read "i have NEVER hit a woman or child"

men?

I've seen this on a friend's blog. she got it from another blog, and that person, most likely, from another.

It is the power and the glory of this medium of expression: The right to publish and post free of any form of censorship.

We are better of for it.

IV>>>you are so right. self censorship is fine, like when confonted with a younger audience you tone down, without dumbing down, what you need to say BUT to have the media and our 'masters' do it for us can never be right. i for one think we should see more of the horrors of every day life and not have it censored to protect us.
